Circumstances of Death

John died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis at home at 4 Woodbine Cottages, Woodbine Street, Leamington Spa. He had been taken ill in October 1918 and his medical report states that he was suffering from TB which had been contracted in England. The following are the details of his Chain of Evacuation.

  • 14 Oct 1918 - Admitted to 163rd Casualty Field Ambulance with TB
  • 04 Nov 1918 - Admitted to Nasrieh Hospital Cairo
  • 26 Nov 1918 - Discharged and sent to England aboard HMHS Alexandria
  • 07 Dec 1918 - Admitted to Mill Road Hospital, Liverpool
  • 06 Feb 1919 - Admitted to Stepping Hill Military Hospital, Stockport
  • 26 Apr 1919 - Discharged from hospital
  • 28 Jun 1919 - Died at home
