THE GREAT WAR 1914 ~ 1919
IN GRATITUDE TO THOSE CONNECTED WITH THIS CHURCH
WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRAFICE
|
George Frederick Muntz MP, a Baptist convert, built the church, then known as Christ Church on his estate in 1877. Now known as Umberslade Baptist Church, the Decorated Gothic building is in the care of the Historic Chapels Trust. Although no longer in use as a place of worship, the Friends of Umberslade Baptist Chapel regularly open up the building and welcome visitors. Three of the men named above have their War Graves in the cemetery near the War Memorial. |
