Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

We have not been able to establish when or where Richard was wounded but in the 11 days prior to his death the Battalion spent time in and out of the front line trenches east of Zillebeke near Sancturary and Zouave Woods. All the casualties reported seem to have been caused by the enemy shelling those positions.
