Circumstances of Death
Walter is listed as dying from wounds received in action on 30th October 1918 and he was buried at St. Sever, Rouen. The 2nd/6th Battalion war diary places the Battalion some 200km's from Rouen in Vendegies. The war diary does not provide any clues as to when and where Walter was wounded and his service records do not record the hospital in which he died.
