Circumstances of Death

Claude died on 6th December 1917 from wounds received in action at one of the 14 military hospitals in Rouen which used the St.Sever graveyard where Claude was buried. We are unable to say when or where Claude was wounded. The war diary does not mention him by name. Around the time of his death the 2nd/8th Battalion were in the Somme area about 190km's from Rouen.
