William is listed as being killed in action on 31 Aug 1918. The war diary from July to Sept is missing from the Archives however we do know that between the 26 Aug and 4 Sep 1915 the Battalion was in the front line trenches at Lala Baba and were constantly under artillery and sniper fire.

The Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum website contains a potted history of the 1st/1st at Gallipoli and can be read here.
