Circumstances of Death

Francis (Frank) is listed as being killed in action on 27 Oct 1918 but we suspect from the war diary entries the period 26th to 28th inclusive that he was killed on the 28th. The entries are transcribed below and should be read in conjuction with a newspaper report in the Evesham Journal which mentions a letter to Frank's widow which in part states "Your husband was in charge of a gun and team, and was sheltering in a dug-out with his men, when an enemy shell struck it, and killed three of them, your unfortunate husband among them".
