Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Sidney died at the No 2 Rawal Pindi British General Hospital, Amara, Iraq and is buried in the nearby Amara War Cemetery.

The circumstances around his death are conflicting, his pension card states that he died of a self inflicted wound, however a newspaper report, transcribed below, states that he died because of the climate and the Warwickshire Roll of Honour states that he died of heat stroke. The war diary reports that on 2nd July 1916 5 men collapsed with heat stroke. We will conitunue to search for more information.
