Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Brian was shot and killed defending the trenches near Herenthaze Chateau with his machine gun and crew during an attack on allied lines by the Prussian Guard. He was initially listed as missing and his death was not confirmed March 1915 by one of his machine gun crew who had been taken prisoner.
