Previous Military Service

Charles served in South Africa as Trooper 4764 in the 50th (2nd Hampshire) Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry and earned the Queens South Africa medal and 5 Clasps

Circumstances of Death

Charles was Commissioned into the Royal Army Medical Corps on 28 Jul 1915 and was posted to Salonika arriving there on 28 Oct 1915. Charles served for around 2 years before returning to his GP's practice in Brinklow. He contracted and subsequently died of Influenza at his home in Brinklow.
