Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

The battalion moved into the Ypres Salient Sector on 17th March 1916 and began a period of trench warfare in poor conditions. We have not been able to identify when Arthur was wounded in action but there were casualties on most days betweent the 19th and 29th March 1916.
