Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

On the day he was killed (11 Novb 1917) Wilfred's battalion were in the lines at Ridge Wood and at 8pm they were relieved by the 14th Battalion Royal Warwickshire. During the relief operation a single shell killed 5 men, including Wilfred, and wounded 6 others. No other events are reported for the day.
