Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The war diary places the battalion at Contalmaison from the 3rd to 6th of Dec, Martinpuich on 7th & 8th and Le Sars on 9th & the 10th when he died. The only wounded casualties recorded were on the 9th and 10th at Le Sars and it is presumed he was wounded on one of those days. There were no set battles and it is assumed that he was wounded by shell or sniper fire.
