Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The information given in the war diary is sketchy but on the 23rd the battalion formed up to attack enemy positions near Becourt from the Albert-Becourt Road towards Becourt Wood. The attack was relatively successful and having consolidated early gains the following day (24th) the battalion reached Becourt Wood and went through it to join a battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Arthur was killed on the 23rd.
