Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

John died of Influenza (Spanish Flu) at Woking Military Hospital, Surrey. He was also suffering from septic bronchitis when he died. He had previously been seriously wounded in France on 30 Nov 1917 and had been returned to England, he never returned to the Front Lines.
