Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

In the weeks leading up to the death of Charles the battatlion were in Moylancourt and mainly employed on working parties repairing and improving trench systems. We do not know on which day Charles was wounded and the war diary records men being wounded on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th May. He would have died at either the No 5 or No 21 Casualty Clearing Stations which were close to Corbie Cemetery.
