Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

The war diary entry is brief - On 23 Mar 1918 the battalion were in the front lines south of Saint-Simon and the St. Quentin canal when the enemy attacked on their right flank capturing Jussy and Flavy causing them to retire to a line from Ollezy to Annois. Cyril was one of 99 casualties suffered that day.
