David is listed as dying of wounds on 14 Feb 1918 at the 22nd Field Ambulance, Sailly-sur-la-Leys having been wounded the previous day by "friendly" shellfire. In Trenches [Delpierre] - 13th February 1915: In trenches. Wet day. 1 Man killed in the morning. About 5pm 1 man killed & 4 men wounded by our artillery shells. 2 of the latter subsequently died. In Trenches [Delpierre] - 14th February 1915: In trenches. Cold and wet day. |
