Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Norman is listed as dying of wounds on 26 Sep 1918. The war diary does not contain sufficient information to 1. Identify which day Norman was originally wounded on - most likely either 20 Sep 1918 or the 25 Sep 1918 when the battalion was involved in offensives and defending enemy counter attacks and 2. it does not give the location of the front lines they were in on those days other than identifying that at one stage they were attacking the La Bassee Road but again there are numerous roads leading into La Bassee.
The CWGC website indicates that he died of his wounds at the 18th or 23rd Casualty Clearing Stations both of which used the Lapugnoy cemetery.
