Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Frederick took part in the Second Battle of Doiran at the beginning of which the British fired 100,000 artlillery shells at Bulgarian lines. The battle lasted for 17 days beginning on 22 Apr 1917 and resulted in a heavy defeat for the British who had to retreat to their original lines suffering 12,000 casualties. Both sides staying in position for the next 16 months until the 3rd Battle of Doiran.
