Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion were in the front lines in the Mt. Sorrel sector of Ypres and whilst it was relatively quiet during the 4 days they were on this line they still suffered numerous casualties due to shell fire.
Unusually all of the men who died were listed in the diary and it shows that Thomas died on the 15th not the 17th.
