Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

46th Brigade RFA were based at Montauban, Somme, from 28 Aug to 5 Oct 1916. The war diary does not list names or the daily number of casualties and so it is not possible to say on which day Frank was wounded however in the days leading up to his death the Brigade had been subject of enemy shelling on a daily basis.
