Circumstances of Death

John is listed as being killed in action on 21 Sep 1918. At the time of his death his CWGC record states that he had been attached to the London Regiment (The Rangers) from the King's Royal Rifle Corps. The Rangers were 12th Battalion London Regiment and the war diary entries for the period 18th to 22nd are transcribed below along with an extract from the book Epehy: Hindenburg Line (Battleground Europe) by Bill Mitchinson.
