Reginald is listed as being killed in action on 2 Sep 1918. The war diary for that day is transcribed below. Albert - Sept 2nd: 1.0am: Message received from OC B Coy saying that Coy in position. Rations have arrive. Message timed 12 midnight 2.30am: A Coy report by runner that they are in position. The CO and Major Grant left early to go round positions and to establish forward Headquarters at Fregicourt. 5.55am: OC B Coy reports by visual that his Coy is being heavily shelled. 10am: Bn HQ moved to a position in Fregicourt about T.30.a.5.8 The remainder of the day was quiet. Instructions received at night to keep a sharp look-out as heavy local counter-attacks were expected. Special order of the day by Brigadier General Wood DSO published. Night passed off quietly. END |
