Circumstances of Death

John was discharged from the Army at the Herne Bay Military Hospital on 4 Apr 1916 suffering from Osteoarthritis. He had served in France from 3 Sep 1915 to 6 Feb 1916 when he was admitted to the 22nd Casualty Clearing Station at Aire-sur-la-Lys before being transferred to Herne Bay.

He died on 23 Nov 1917 from Cancer of the Larynx and is buried in Warwick Cemetery.
