Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On the 22nd Sep the Battalion relieved an Australian unit in the lines just south west of Polygon Wood and took up positions at Clerk House (Pin 1), Carlise Farm (Pin 2) and on the banks of the Reutelbeek (Pin 3). Battalion HQ had two positions near Fitzclarence Farm (Pins 4 & 5). They remained in those positions until they were relieved on the 25th by the 1st Bn Middlesex. During the relief operation 3 men were killed, including Albert, and 4 were wounded.
