Francis is listed as being killed in action on 26 Aug 1917. The informatin contained in the war diary for the whole month of August is very sparse and there are no reports on operations, casualty lists or other appendices'. There are no mentions of this time in The Story of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. 25.8.1917 - Brandhoek: The Battalion marched to Divisional Support at Ypres North area. END 26.8.17 to 29.8.1917 - Ypres North: The Battalion provided working parties for the forward areas. END |
