6th June 1915: In billets at Noeux-les-Mines. Battalion paraded at 8.40pm and marched to Cambrin relieving in the trenches opposite Auchy (south of La Bassee Road) the 19th Battalion, London Regiment. Relief completed about 2am [on 7th].

7th June 1915: In trenches at Auchy. Very quiet day, very hot. Trenches poor and parapets much undercut and a great deal of work required to put them in order. High Crops and long grass close up to trenches impede view.
