Circumstances of Death
|
The following note is found in Aubrey's Circumstances of Casualty Register: "Previously reported wounded, missing, now official reports presumed to have died. Information is available that he was wounded on 30/10/17 during an attack at Passchendaele Ridge, and that he took cover in a shell hole, but as the area was subjected to heavy machine gun fir and shelling, it is presumed that he was killed whilst in the shell hole, or when trying to reach a dressing station." |
