Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

War diary shows for some days prior to his death Wallace and the 5th Battalion were constructing trench shelters in the lines Bouzincourt. The casualty lists show that men were wounded on the 19th, 21st and 24 June. Wallace died of wounds on the 24th June.
