Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

George was listed as missing on Thursday 30th May 1918, on that day the battalion were in the lines at Lhery-Ville-En-Tardenois and were attacked by German forces and they were forced to withdraw to a position facing Rumilly where they remained. They were also heavily shelled. It is not known at which stage George was killed (went missing).
