- 27 Jul 1918 - Thomas was admitted to the 2/1st North Midland Field Ambulance, No. 2 Ambulance Train with gunshot wound of the upper extremities. He was Transferred to Sick Convoy on the same day.
- 27 Aug 1918 - Casualty list shows he was entitled to wear Wounded Stripe on Uniform
- 16 Nov 1918 - Casualty List shows Thomas as Wounded with Shell Shock
- The Warwickshire Roll of Honour book states that Thomas was awarded the Belgium Croix de Guerre for "rescuing wounded men whilst under heavy machine gun fire in 1917".
