The very brief war diary entry for the period 8th to 16th Sep 1915 is transcribed below: Winchester Post - 8/9/15 to 16/9/15: Relieved 12/RB [12th Battalion Rifle Brigade] in front lines trenches. Situation quiet all the time. Snipers found few targets. They hit 3 Germans. Our M. Guns dispersed various enemy working parties. Casualties 1 Officer - Lt White - v slightly wounded 1 N.C.O wounded 3 Rfn killed. 1 Rfn died of wounds (George), 17 Rfn wounded. END |
