Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

Oliver died of gun shot wounds incurred during the Battle of the Selle. He is buried at Vadencourt British Cemetery which was used by the 5th, 47th and 61st Casualty Clearing Stations in addition to numerous Field Ambulances.

Oliver is listed as dying of his wounds on 23 Oct 1918, the war diary does not list casualties by name but he was most likely wounded during the operations of the 17th to 23rd Oct 1918 near Becquigny. The war diary from the period is transcribed below:
