The 213th Company left Buxton on 8th March 1916, a few days after George's death and arrived in Le Havre, France via Southampton on 10th March 1916. The 213th Fortress Company was formed in Leamington Spa and Warwick in March 1915, it was renamed the 213th Army Troops Company in September 1915.
