Circumstances of Death

Reginald is listed as being killed in action on 17 Sep 1916. He was the only man from his unit buried at Sucrerie on that day. The very brief 2nd Battalion war diary entry for the period 16th to 18th Sep 1916 is transcribed below.

Coigneux 16 Sep 1916: The Regt relieved the 17th R.I., Fusl in the same trenches [Coigneux Wood]. The relief was effected without incident. Regt Hdqtrs was shelled on 17th, 18th & 19th. END
