Circumstances Leading to Death from War Diary          

The battery had been camped near Hill 60 - south of Zillebeek for a number of days when Thomas was wounded on 8 Oct 1917, presumably by enemy counter battery fire, and died of those wounds on 15 Oct 1917 at the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, Outtersteene.
