Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The war diary is vague but on 16th April the battalion were ordered to relieve the Durham Light Infantry in the trenches near St. Venant. On the day Stephen is reported as being killed the battalion was being relieved from those positions by the 1st Bn Cheshires.
