Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary).

The battalion were in the line at La Boisselle when C & D companies went forward to support an attack being made by the Gloucestershire Regiment within the village of La Boiselle. The attack appears to have been successful of the Royal Warwicks, Gloucesters and South Lancs regiments held and consolidated the new lines. Frederick was a member of D Company and would have been killed in the attack on the village.
