Sidney died of Double Pneumonia at the Red Cross Hospital in Stratford-on-Avon on 2nd May 1915.
Sidney had served in South Africa prior to WW1.His service number suggests that he originally enlisted between 29th July 1907 and 4th February 1908. Short History of the Movements of the 2nd Battalion:
After the Gallipoli campaign, the battalion was sent to France in March 1916, where it fought on the Western Front for the remainder of the war.

Sidney was not awarded the Victory medal which means that it is most likely he did not serve abroad in WW1. He would have been in Stratford because the 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment
