Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The war diary places the battalion in the trenches in a line somewhere between Sinn and Dujailah Redoubt - see red/blue line below. However on the day he is reported, 27 Mar 1916 as missing presumed dead the battatlion was undertaking drills & training along with fatigues in trenches and no mention is made of any shelling or casualties, a situation that was the same from 21st to 30th when 4 men were wounded.
