Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

On 4 Dec 1917 the Brigade HQ was just north of Langemarck & Ypres at Lapin Farm and the Batteries were on the Brombeke. The batteries came under a heavy high explosive and gas shell bombardment and at some stage during the day Frederick was killed.
