The war diary for the 13th states "B Coy was shelled. Otherwise a quiet day. Relieved the 2nd/4th Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry in right front sector commencing at dusk. Relief completed 10.45pm". Albert was killed at some stage during the day, most likely during the shelling of B Coy.

The 2nd/4th O&BLI war diary tells us that they were in the front lines at Laventie when relieved.
