Louis is listed as being killed by shellfire on 30 Oct 1914. He was killed by an enemy shell, his remains were never recovered and he is remembered on the Ploegsteert Memorial. Trenches at Flamangerie Farm 30.10.14: Still in trenches. Slight shelling. Casualties:- 2 Riflemen killed and 1 man wounded. 10.30pm: Demonstration by enemy who pushed forward patrols. END |
