Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Frank died of his wounds aboard the hospital/troopship HMHS Devanha. It is not known where or when he was wounded as we have been unable to find the company war diary but HMHS Devanha was involved in the Gallipoli Landings. His unit was part of The 13th (Western) Division which landed at Anzac Cove on the Gallipoli peninsula in July 1915 in preparation for the Battle of Sari Bair (The August Offensive) beginning on 6 August so it highly likely he was wounded on or after the 6th August 1915.
