Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

On the 6th April, the 7th Division including the 1st Ox & Bucks LI assaulted enemy positions at Sannaiyat but advanced straight into a hail of rifle and machine gun fire from both banks, There would be three similar attacks launched by the division that day, all spreadheaded by the 28th and 19th were cut to pieces and the Ox and Buck lost all their officers and 220 of 266 other ranks including Horace.
