Circumstances of Death

Wilfred is listed as dying of wounds on 19 Aug 1915. The 3rd Battalion war diary shows that the Battalion were in the trenches near La Brique for 16 days between 4th & 18th August will no details and they were relieved on the 19th. The very brief war diary entries are transcribed below along with the transcription of a letter sent to Wilfred's mother by his Company Commander.
