Gheluvelt - Oct 29th: Report received that our line had been broken N.E. of Gheluvelt. The Battn after going back to the Chateau moved out at 11.30am to counter-attack. A Company was sent to retake the trenches S of Poeselhoek with B Coy on the left and C & D in support. Leith? was wounded almost at once but the Companies pushed on and drove the Germans back some 500 yards. They eventually held a line across the valley with the Scots Guards on their left and the Welsh on the right.

B Coy remained out as a covering party till 3am, 30th when the whole Battn was withdrawn and dug themselves in with C & D Coys in the firing line just S.E. of Gheluvelt.

Trenches SE of Gheluvelt - Oct 30th: Remained in the trenches all day under shell-fire. About 4pm B Company was sent out to reinforce the Queens who were hard-pressed. A Coy was also sent forward later. These two Companies remained in the firing-line all night and drove back three separate German attacks.
