On 10 Jun 1915 Arthur left Eygpt and was transported back to Freemantle, Australia suffereing from Typhoid and Chronic Nephritis, having first fallen ill in January 1915 on the Troopship from Australia. He was discharged from the Australian Army on 26 Jul 1916 as medically unfit. He never recovered from his illnesses and died of Tuberculosis at Perth Hospital on 12 Apr 1917. |
