Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On the day William is recorded as being killed the battalion were in new trenches in a line running from a level crossing into Verlorenhoek north of Bellewaarde. The war diary describes two very quiet days "only occassionally interupted by the a wizz bang or the attentions of a sniper. No other details of the day are given so it presumed that William was killed by a wizz bang or shot by a sniper.
